What Are White People "Really" Afraid Of?

As the mini-documentary above shows, Whites fear a role-reversal of social power after centuries of White colonial power throughout the Colonial Europo-Diaspora. The above example is post-Apartheid South Africa, but Euro-Americans in the United States, Canada and Mexico perceive a similar fate. It should be noted that these individuals are Boers, generational ethnic Euro-settlers that arrived long before the British decided to listen to Cecil Rhodes. The Boer War was a nasty bit of empire building in Africa and after they lost to the English accepted a settled, sub-master racial status and became the bulk of the Blankes middle-class.

Now that the ANC is more concerned with developing a western-style African middle-class to replace the Boers making it seem like the mostly British elites that really run the country economically and therefore politically are not really in power, ethnic Boers have fallen by the wayside. Many now reside top to tail with non-Whites in SA's historical shantytowns still littering the countryside years after the ANC victory. Barack Obama may be the Antichrist, he has risen up out of no where, he mesmerizes crowds, people are gathering in huge numbers, he is likely becoming the next President of the United States. Do not look only to what I say, but look to your Bibles, to passages in John, Daniel, and Revelations.

Yes, these are serious blogs reporting on the Obama campaign as they see it, a political race contaminated by a Black man. What other reason is there? And if the argument can/will become one of "Well, his race was never, ever, ever mentioned once...", it is only logical to then question what indeed has informed their less than favourable opinions on Barack "Hussein" Obama's candidacy. Remember, Inteligentaindigena Novajoservo does not endorse or care much for Mr. Obama either, but I assume this stance strictly on political principle, not his ethnicity or assumed theological beliefs. These blogs are just a small offering of what can be found across the Internet produced by closeted ethnically biased neo-conservatives truly frightened by the possible prospect of a "Black" planet in the U.S. of A.

As it is generally understood, the colonial entity known as "America" is by Providence supposed to be dominated by the colonialist concept of "White Privilege". All of us, regardless of ethnicity and nationality in the U.S. have been throughly and largely unconsciously indoctrinated into this worldview since childhood. And it is not a conspiracy theory to point out that this exclusively pro-Europocentric social paradigm is constantly being reinforced within virtually all notable examples of mass media and communications. Non-European elements and principles are, as a rule, measured solely against a single, self-designed European standard that presupposes an ethnocentric perfection the non-European must himself strive to earn via the colonially suggested virtue of psychological acculturation. The fact that this imposed suicide of the identity is seen by the colonializer and victim alike as "progress" also serves to hinder effective and pro-active corrective education and social action.

Barack Obama is a perfect example of the colonial American "Assimilado", a term originated in early colonial Brazil to describe the cultured Native, the Indian or African, usually of mixed-blood, who wore long trousers. He is accepted for the most part within and by the White colonialist majority. He speaks like them, eats like them and laughs at their jokes. He is not the average Uncle Tom because he walks with much more grace. He will work with the White majority, he will protect them morally and he has already promised to continue to expand the empire and continue to support the genocide of Palestinians. Really, what is there for neo-cons not to like?

Well, he's Black for starters. In fact, that is the crux of the problem. Not his ethnicity as that is automatically the root basis of all White/Non-White relations across the globe. What I mean is that Obama is simply too "Black" for comfort and this other-ness is frightening the White American public to death.

It is not good enough to be Europeanized, one must also live and breathe as a White man or risk the chance that Whites may think you are conspiring against them. It is more than just knowing which fork to use. Fanon comes immediately to mind as does a long list of others which even Fanon I think, would have to agree had a lot to do with White intellectuals promoting their work. Those of us with one foot in the hood and the other deep in everyday White society are accorded certain liberties other brothers and sisters are routinely denied. They believe that we will not stab them from behind or allow them to be violated in such a way by the "other". We are seen as house Negroes by our brothers and exotic items to be marvelled at and enviously copied by Whites dealing with their own colonial-identity problems. In many ways we offer the balance Whites require to justify and remind them of their own self-aggrandized vision of White Power. The assimilated Aboriginal of Kipling's tome.

But Mr. Obama has not played by the established rules. Firstly, unlike many of his contemporaries Mr. Obama has married Black. A rarity amongst successful Black men. This, I have found over several discussions with various White acquaintances recently that interracial couplings says something about the darker partner. It is I have noticed over the decades become more accepted to view African males married/shacking up with willing White women as somehow "advanced" and "non-angry" towards White people.

As one person dropped it to me while discussing Obama's pastor, "Isn't Sidney Pointer married to a White woman?" After I acknowledged in the affirmative, he she looked somewhat bewildered. As if it meant that a White partner in a non-White political or social figure life implies less animosity towards the White public. I then began to wonder if she spoke so candidly with me only because she is aware that my spouse "appears" to be European and thus, placed me mentally within the box of the "Good, diluted-blood Negro" she could confide to and trust in a time of uncertainty and woe.

Secondly, while White supporters of his candidacy want Obama to be the answer to getting many of the more progressive elements of the American African population to be quiet, his church membership and close relationship to a liberation theology preacher has also gone on to make many if not all Whites to some degree feel uneasy about what the African population in this country really might be thinking about our experience with genocidal White rule in the United States.

I find the latter to be quite humourous given that historically neither Africans nor First Nations peoples have ever "taken revenge" for more than 500 years of mistreatment. If anything, we have embraced and protected the White population and by our sacrifices made this entity possible. In return we have received little but more struggle for our own basic human rights, something White America has fought us against tooth and nail. To worry about how we might regard that history in our hearts and homes not only proves the notion that there exists several "Americas" in the United States, but that these divisions are primarily reflections of the fears of the White majority of what would happen if the power dynamics were to ever change.

It would just be nice for once if the White population were willing to be honest about it. It is their own fears, not our anger that created the divisions they speak of. It is easier, our elders tell us, to trust the Devil that you know rather than the Devil that you don't know as well.
