Scholars declare war on poverty in Africa — The Punch - Nigeria's Most Widely Read Newspaper
23.4.12
Scholars declare war on poverty in Africa — The Punch - Nigeria's Most Widely Read Newspaper: That Africa is the poorest and the most underdeveloped continent in the world is no news. The figures that indicate this are stark. They show that the continent is besieged by disease, deaths, internecine clashes, undeveloped and underdeveloped economy, illiteracy, corruption and other afflictions.
With staggeringly poor indices, scholars from all parts of the continent, in the Diaspora and from other parts of the world, recently converged on the University of Texas at Austin, United States for the 12th edition of the Toyin Falola Conference to intellectually diagnose the issues around the crushing poverty.
