Servindi, April 20, 2012. - "I want to give a message to all Peruvians and especially to my brothers in Cajamarca, in relation to the Conga mining project, on which we have prepared the following". With these words the President, Ollanta Humala, addressed the nation to announce that his government will ensure the implementation of the controversial project while addressing the major concerns of the people of Cajamarca, especially water.
Humala Tasso said his government "will ensure that the quantity, availability and water quality is controlled by mechanisms that give absolute security to the people of Cajamarca that there will be an adequate supply of this vital resource."
