Iqaluit man alleges mistreatment at men's shelter - North - CBC News: A homeless man is speaking out about the alleged mistreatment of men staying at the volunteer-run Oqota men's shelter in Iqaluit.

Markosie Aningmiuq said he contacted Nunavut's Minister responsible for Homelessness, Monica Ell, about his concerns, but hasn't seen any changes.

Aningmiuq said he represents a group of men, but said they won't speak publicly. He alleges a staff member used racist slurs and added that whistles are sometimes blown loudly to get the men out of bed.
