We want recognition in Nigerian constitution - Traditional rulers - DailyPost Nigeria - DailyPost Nigeria:
A communiqué released stated that “considering the historical disposition and status of traditional rulers as custodians of their people’s cultural and traditional values”, there was need to without further delay list their roles in the constitution.
Chairman of the Co-ordinating Committee and the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, who signed the statement, said the ruler have immensely contributed to peace and stability of the nation and as such, deserve recognition.
The communiqué also decried the lack of confidence and synergy between security agencies and other stakeholders in the society, on information generation and management.
The rulers therefore called for framework for collaboration on all issues related to security, grassroots mobilisation, advocacy and development in order to ensure stability at all times.
