No Justice: Expect Upheavals When US Government Defends Big Polluters at Victims’ Expense

No Justice: Expect Upheavals When US Government Defends Big Polluters at Victims’ Expense: Take Louisiana's Governor, Bobby Jindal: He just signed a bill that makes oil & gas firms immune from lawsuits. Instead of getting tough on regulations after the BP catastrophe, the government is passing laws that allow the polluters to pollute as much as they want with impunity. No lawsuits allowed. Jindal even ignored his own attorney general and dozens of legal scholars who warned him not to sign the bill.

The bill blocks a levee board's lawsuit against oil and gas companies, who are accused of destroying the state's coast. Obviously, oil, methane, correxit have clearly devastated the state's coast without question. Worst still, the law is so general that if people were killed from a refinery explosion, Jindal's 'protect-the-oil-firms-at-all costs-law' would prevent families from suing the oil industry on the grounds of negligence.
