Russian Regions Declare State of Emergency as 480,000 Fled Kiev's Ethnic Cleansing | nsnbc international: The total number of refugees in the Rostov region alone exceeds 49,000. Some 15,400 of them are children, said the spokesperson for the Rostov region’s government Alexander Titov to the Itar-Tass news agency on Wednesday. The tented refugee camp in Rostov can accommodate 1,000 people, stressed Titov.

One group of refugee children with special need for medical aid arrived in Moscow, said Tatyana Yakovleva, the Russian Deputy Minister of Healthcare. Two more will arrive who are wounded and in extremely critical condition, said the Director of the Ministry’s children medical aid department Yelena Baybarina. The nine children who arrived on Friday all suffer from serious diseases and injuries which require long-term treatment.
