Mediapart s'associe au mouvement de soutien Netzpolitik
As part of an international mobilization, Mediapart joins the movement to support Netzpolitik and published this open letter, signed by journalists around the world, seeking dropped. "The charges against Netzpolitik.org and their source unknown treason are an attack against freedom of the press. The prosecution for treason journalists who perform essential work for democracy is a violation of the fifth article of the German constitution. We demand the cessation of proceedings against journalists and their sources Netzpolitik.org. "On Thursday 30 July, a German federal Attorney General announced the opening of an investigation for" high treason "against the information website Netzpolitik.Cette procedure, a first in over 50 years in Germany, is following a complaint filed by the Federal Office for Protection of the Constitution (BfV), domestic intelligence services who accuse journalists of the site for publishing confidential information in two articles, published February 25 and April 15 2015.Ces two texts revealed that the BfV demanded additional funds to strengthen its monitoring of the Internet and create a special unit to monitor networks sociaux.L'annonce the opening of this procedure has sparked an outcry in Germany but also in the world. On Friday, the German Ministry of Justice seemed to yield to this pressure by announcing retired prosecutor who decided to open the investigation. But the services of the State, the BfV, have so far maintained their complaint and the prosecution is, for now, not abandoned.
