A Texas Republican Lawmaker Just Threatened To Shoot His Democratic Colleagues As Fight Erupts: Today, Texas state representatives got into a physical altercation in the State Capitol Building after a Republican threatened to call ICE on a group of Hispanic protestors.

Republican Representative Matt Rinaldi made the racist comment to a group of Hispanic Democratic reps, who understandably became infuriated.

“Fuck them, I called ICE,” said Rinaldi, according to a fellow legislator. The Texas Observer reports that Rinaldi also threatened to “put a bullet in one of his colleague’s heads.”

Under any other circumstances, such behavior would be political suicide, but under the new radical GOP, such rhetoric is normalized. Rinaldi’s barbaric language is in step with the modern Republican ethos. What’s more, it may actually endear him to his voter base and help him in future elections.
