Hear from the Women who Disrupted Steve Mnuchin’s Speech at UCLA

Interviews Available

The defiant young women who disrupted Steve Mnuchin at UCLA Monday night are available for interview.

Their disruption has been covered by The New York Times, Washington
Post, Spin, the Wall Street Journal and on local TV in Los Angeles.

Extended video of what Mnuchin wants to hide.
Three young women spoke one after another against “the politics of
cruelty and politics of fascism” that Mnuchin was defending. The
audience cheered and hissed and booed Mnuchin for the cruel impact of
the tax bill on the lives of millions. The protesters, from Refuse
Fascism and LA Revolution Club were dragged out of the auditorium by
campus police.

The three, including a current UCLA student and recent alumni, were arrested and told they were being banned from campus.

In the aftermath, Mnuchin has demanded that UCLA NOT release the video.

Available for interview:

– Tala Deloria, a UCLA student majoring in Geography at UCLA and member of the Revolution Club, UCLA

– Luna Hernandez, graduated in English from UCLA last year, a national student organizer with RefuseFascism.org

They can speak to why they risked arrest to speak up during Mnuchin’s
speech, the harm of the tax bill and how that’s linked to the extreme
danger of the whole Trump/Pence regime, and why they are defying the ban
at UCLA.

RefuseFascism.org is a
movement of people coming from diverse perspectives, united in our
recognition that the Trump/Pence Regime poses a catastrophic danger to
humanity and the planet, and that it is our responsibility to drive them
from power through non-violent protests that grow every day until our
demand is met. This means working and organizing with all our creativity
and determination to bring thousands, eventually millions of people
into the streets of cities and towns, to demand:This Nightmare Must End:
The Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!
