Police Attack Protesting Puerto Rican Teachers: Solidarity Against Disaster Capitalist Schooling – I AM AN EDUCATOR: At the end of last week, police pepper sprayed members of the Puerto Rican teachers union (FMPR) as they protested against the Fiscal Oversight Board’s plan to close nearly another 300 schools, lay off thousands of teachers, cut their pensions, and impose charter schools. These brave teachers are set to strike on May 1st, May Day– International Workers Day—against these neoliberal education policies.
