Inuk leader disappointed by Barrette’s comments about parents in Quebec’s North | Montreal Gazette: Barrette stopped short of apologizing unreservedly for his remarks, suggesting that some people might have misinterpreted what he said.
“I’m profoundly sorry that people are making that kind of assumption,” Barrette told reporters in Lachine, where he made a pre-electoral announcement to build a $95-million pavilion at Lachine Hospital.
“I did not refer in my comments to First Nations in any way.”
