Elk Grove Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting Of Handcuffed Suspect - KTXL: "'while he was sitting in the back of the police vehicle he was moving around from side-to-side,' Trim said.
That's when officers opened the rear door 'to gain control' of Hesselbein. Hesselbein was in handcuffs at the time.
'Once the door was opened, one of the officers, who had his law enforcement rifle out, fired his weapon. At his point we don't know why he fired his weapon,' Trim said.
The bullet grazed the left side of Hesselbein’s face resulting in a non-life threatening injury. Hesselbein was taken to a local hospital for treatment."
