First Ever Google Hangout Powered Global Press Conference? | Tibet Action Institute: "UPDATE 15/7: The press conference went very well, and you can now watch an edited YouTube video here and the full Ustream archive here.

The Tibet Action Institute is excited to be supporting what may well be the first global online video press conference powered by the new Google Hangout group video chat feature. Hangout allows up to 10 participants to see and hear each other online, as well as share and simultaneously watch YouTube videos. Our movement is spread around the globe, and hangout offers unprecedented capabilities for the voices from our diaspora to join together online.

The press conference “hangout”, coordinated by the International Tibet Network (more information below), will include a number of prominent Tibetan activists in India, the UK and the United States. In addition a handful of selected reporters and other participants will also join the hangout, and be able to directly participate in the press conference. For those who cannot make it into the limited hangout, the entire discussion will be rebroadcast live on the Tibet Global UStream Channel and questions will be taken via chat and Twitter."
